COBRA KAI KUNG FU OFFERS ADULT
AND JUNIOR INSTRUCTION:


Our junior training parallels the adult training. However, the contact is softer and excludes certain techniques until the student is more advanced. This training concept is safer and insures that our juniors understand when and how to use the more advanced techniques.

We stress to all students to walk away from an encounter if possible, and that violence is a last resort. Further, no student should use more force than is necessary.


RANKING OF STUDENTS

 

 

Traditionally, most Kung Fu styles do not have a regulated rank system. Many simply award titles. At Cobra Kai, we award a colored sash after a rigid testing period. The Black Sash promotion is a three day ordeal, including an all night meditation and the keeping of a candle burrning to our Grand Master. Upon reaching Black Sash or Disciple Level, a student is given a Chinese title, usually a name synonymous with the student's character. At each level of progress, the training becomes more complex and there is more responsibility placed on the student.

Green Sash: 2nd year of training
Blue Sash: 3rd year of training
Brown Sash: 4th year of training
Black Sash: 5th - 6th year of training
